Blog Hop: Fairy Day Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Fairy Day Blog Hop Day 2.  If you are coming from Jessica's at

When I saw fairies, I said, "Yes Please!". My daughter loves herself some fairies.  She has been totting butterfly or fairy wings around this house basically since she can walk. She flits around imagining what it would like to be pocket-sized and flightful.  She once told me whenever she makes a wish, she wishes she could be a fairy so she could fly. I hope she thinks like that for a LONG time :)

I have two projects to share today. My first one was a collaborative effort with the aforementioned fairy lover.  I used the Stampin' Up! butterfly die (that I love so very much) on white paper and I had her draw, color and create wings for her fairies. My daughter LOVES to draw. Just loves it. She is constantly making fairies or horses flying around flowers to color.
Here is my page. I took this picture of her wearing her Halloween costume from last fall as she was playing around in the garden early this spring.  I just love it.  I used my new SU Lace Border punch (coming to you soon starting July 1st) and let me tell you, I am in LOVE with it.
Recipe
Colors: SU Orchid Opulence, Melon Mambo and some scrap silver paper
Accessories: SU Lace Border Punch

In addition to the fairy page, I had made this card for a girl's birthday that I pulled out of my card stock (which I need to restock).  Whenever I make cards, I at least make four at a time and stock the rest. I like to keep Birthday (man, woman, boy, girl), Thank You cards, Basic/No Label cards and Baby cards.  I thought it came out cute so I thought I would share it.

Perfect for a little girl.  I need to make more of these. I don't really ever replicate my cards again.  Too many stamp and color combos to get too :)

Next stop is to Martha -  http://pattisscrapingtime.blogspot.com/.
Hope you enjoyed your stop!

Scrappin' Chics Guest Design Team: Challenge #3

Scrappin' Chics Challenge

Welcome! I have the privilege of being a guest designer for the second challenge at the new Scrappin' Chic Challenge blog which can be found at http://www.scrappinchicschallenge.blogspot.com/. This is the third post and my third submission for the Guest Design Team.

The theme is: sunshine & inspirational quotes.   I have posted this page before but it fit so perfectly in the theme that I had to reuse it.

My friend Linnea had asked me for some help for her husband's father's day gift and it was this quote that she wanted to paint on a sign. I have not seen the final product but it was cute when I saw it in progress.  I love this song and I thought I would create a page to go along with the quote and add a picture of my husband and kids.  I gave the page to my husband for Father's Day.

I used my Chomas Creations Sharpie Holder for the Cricut.  It worked great! I was much easier to use the quote with the marker rather than gluing each teeny tiny letter. I am going to have to get markers in other colors!

Just to recap, my first two designs for this challenge are here.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my first Guest Design Team entry! Please go back to Scrappin' Chics blog to find out more about the other creations!

Blog Hop: Officially Summer

make a gif

Welcome to the OFFICIALLY SUMMER Blog Hop. Summer is in full swing here at our home. Two weeks in and I am already exhausted! I need to keep a fine balance of off days at home and fun and tiring days away in order to keep a good balance at home! Though in the moment, summer feels long, the days do go by fast and before we know it, the kids are going to be back in school. In order to make good use of time with my family this summer before BOTH of my kids are going to be in school full time in the fall, I thought it was smart to make a To-Do list. I am CASEing this idea from a project in a previous summer blog hop I had helped organize.  I had to do it myself!

It is not actually as crooked as pictured :) My obsession with the Stampin' Up Dot, Dot, Dot stamp continues. Really. I can't get enough :)

Recipe
Colors: SU Pacific Point, SU Rose Red, SU Daffodil Delight
Stamps: SU Polka Dot Punches, SU Dot, Dot, Dot

Happy Father's Day

On this day we take some time and celebrate those awesome men in our lives that are lucky enough to be called Daddy. My husband is a GREAT father. My kids are so crazy lucky to have him.

So HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my awesome husband and to all the great dads out there.

I helped my daughter make this card and I did make the gingham section. I thought I would share the card and how I made the gingham!

My oldest did all the circle stamping herself, chose the colors and where she wanted to place them.  Here is how I did the gingham. When I use the Stampin' Up! Solid Stripes stamp, I use the corner of a piece of paper to guide where I stamp the first and second time to create the gingham.  Both times, I match up the corner of the stamp.

Here is the first stamp:

And then I turn the stamp 90 degrees and stamp in the same corner.

Here is how it came out. We made four cards all in all. I had a great helper and she even writes the sentiments inside now :)

Recipe
Colors: SU Island Indigo (I can see myself really LOVING this new color), SU Pool Party, SU Lucky Limeade
Stamps: SU Solid Stripes, SU Circle Circus
