Blog Hop: Fall Decor

Welcome to the Fall Home Decor Blog Hop! If you are coming from Maria- http://www.mdcraftcorner.blogspot.com/, then you are in the right spot!

I was at a scrapbooking expo this summer and I found this cute oversized bottle cap that I thought I would decorate seasonally. This was my perfect opportunity to use it.  It is a nice cream color and it is also magnetic! I wanted to create embellishments that I could reuse and glue magnets to them similar to these presents I had made last Christmas.  I made these fun magnetic toys of paper cutouts for the kids. One was an outer space theme and the other a fairy flower land.
Here is what I came up with for this hop:

I started with the half scalloped fans because frankly, I can't stop making them.  I wish I had made them smaller round ones but there is always the next holiday!  I stamped the images and used this fun embellishment I had also bought at the scrapbooking expo. A fun way to design your own buttons from any paper you have! They are made by Epiphany Crafts and it is a LOT of fun.

You use these self adhesive clear buttons and you place it in the top of the lid where the prongs are.  You close it up, punch it out, and VOILA! Polka dot button!
I attached it to the center of this Stampin' Up! Sunflower.  I added some paper glaze around the middle and glittered it (because why not!) and glued my cute button in the middle.
I added a giant pop dot on the back of the flowers and then glued with E6000 a strong magnet on the back. I had bought about 200 of these magnets off of ebay and I use them all the time. So handy to have in your supplies.
I then cut a 12 inch dotted scallop circle which I used for the base. I did not even have to attach it on because the magnets hold the mat in place.

I think I am going to let my daughter play with the pieces and see what she comes up with!

Hope you enjoyed my project! I better go and hang it up :) Your next stop is Lori at http://www.scrappinmystressaway.blogspot.com/.
