Blog Hop: Butterflies & Blogs Birthday Hop

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday and welcome to the Butterflies & Blogs Birthday Hop.

This was an easy one for me to come up with a project idea. I LOVE butterflies and my daughter's love exceeds my own.  Her spirit actually reminds me of a butterfly :) True to form, she chose to be a butterfly this past Halloween. My friend, Linnea of Images to Adore, took this amazing picture of her that I had to scrap for this.  

Spring is one of my favorite holidays because flowers start to grow and a lot of my plants are planted to specifically call the butterflies to our garden.  I am always excited to see what flits in and out of our flowers.  I love that my kids even get excited about moths :)  I hope they keep that wonder for the rest of their lives.


Here is my project! I actually had two awesome picture to scrap for this project but I did not have enough time to get it done.  


 I absolutely love these realistic butterflies.  Some areas of them were a little to slim to be cut in paper but I covered up the issue areas with the paper around the picture :)

One of my favorite embellishments is this shimmer spray that I created from some SU shimmer paint.  The little paint bottle is called Champagne Mist and I added it to some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle that I bought at a dollar spot somewhere.  It is the PERFECT accent to add to so many pages. All you do is spray it all over, the rubbing alcohol dries and you are left with a shimmer on your work.  Unfortunately, this shimmer does not photograph to well but as you look at the page, the light catches these little sparkles and it just shines. This picture below shows a bit of it but it is much nicer in person:

I have made my own shimmer spray, but not with alcohol--I can't wait to try this, as it will dry so much faster than the water base I have been using--Thanks for sharing!
